Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for the mobile power generation company
- Monitor and inspect the work environment to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Investigate and document any safety incidents or accidents
- Provide safety training to employees and contractors
- Develop and maintain safety records and reports
- Monitor and inspect the use of personal protective equipment
- Ensure that all safety equipment is in good working order
- Develop and implement emergency response plans
- Monitor and inspect the use of hazardous materials
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections
- Develop and implement safety awareness programs
- Monitor and inspect the use of power generation equipment
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations
- Respond to safety-related inquiries from employees and contractors
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience as safety officer
- In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and procedures
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Diligent with great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics
- Certificate in occupational health and safety
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
- Poses an active and current driver’s license.
- Must be willing to travel.
Work Schedule:
- On average 12 hour shift
- 2 weeks on/2 weeks off
